As a result, we are unable to accept walk up repairs and ask that for any repair or servicing needs, to make a booking via our online booking tool (below), email (info@gearedupcycles.com) or phone (01483 234812). 

 

We have also temporarily suspended fork and shock servicing.

We endeavour to fit as much as we can into our working day, and thank you for your patience and understanding!

Here at Geared Up Cycles there is no repair too big or small, we can do just about anything from that tweak on your gears or getting to a bolt that just wont budge, to a full strip down and rebuild.

Old or new - any brand- any model.

All prices quoted cover the labour involved with the service. Any parts required are additional.

When making your booking, the staff member is the location you will be dropping off at.

The time slots are just part of the booking system, and do not relate to when the service will be done during the day. Please make sure the bike is with us in good time on the day of the booking, or the working day before.

I've booked in, when can I drop my bike off ?

We are currently experiencing a high demand for servicing and repairs. Being limited on space, we ask the bike is dropped off either the morning of the day it is booked in for, or the working day before. If this is not suitable, please contact us to make alternative arrangements!

Help! I need an urgent repair, but need to use my bike regularly for commuting ! Can you turn around within a day ?

No problem, please just mention this in the comments when making your booking and we will endeavour to turn the bike round as quickly as possible. There may be a slight delay if any parts need to be ordered in, but we can discuss that with you before progressing.

How long will my service/repair take?

We always aim to work on the bike the day it is booked for. Depending if any issues are found, finishing the repair may need to roll to a later day, especially if any parts need to be ordered in, but most suppliers have a 2- 3 working day delivery window. You will be informed of any issues that may delay the work being done.

How often should I get my bike serviced?

This all depends on how much you use your bike...!

If you're a commuter and use it every day, we would recommend a service every 3-4 months or 500 miles.

If you are a casual or hobby user and ride at weekends we would recommend every 5-6 months, usually either side of the winter. 

If you are a very occasional user - perhaps fair weather or on holiday - then a yearly service should be sufficient.

 

Which service should I go for??

It does depend on when your bike was last serviced and what kind of rider you are!

We have found that our most popular service is at Gold level - this covers everything generic, including labour for fitting of any / all parts.

Some examples;

* if you are looking to give your bike some TLC after a muddy winter season, we would recommend a Gold or possibly even Platinum to give it a proper clean , check and ready for Spring / Summer.

* if the bike hasn't been ridden in a while, has been stored indoors and needs going over before riding again , a Silver could well suffice.

We can always discuss which is best in each situation.

 

Do you offer a collect and delivery service?

Yes we do, please contact us for details or to add to an existing booking. Depending on location and number of bikes, a small call out fee may apply, but we will make you aware of this when booking.
